Hello! I’m Lis, the home-chef behind this kitchen. After moving from Singapore to America in 2021 to be with my husband, I started a culinary journey to bridge our two cultures. To share with him the foods from my childhood – mostly not vegan – I began the challenge of converting classic cultural dishes into wholesome recipes that are both delicious and entirely plant-based.
Bridging Cultures with Vegan Food
This blog is dedicated to sharing that process. My husband has been a vegan for more than ten years, and my own food intolerances mean that nearly everything I cook is now plant-based. My inspiration comes from recreating memories—taking the authentic flavors of my mom’s home-cooking and other cultural experiences and making them vegan. My goal is to let my husband taste a piece of my life. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I make sure to credit all original recipes I adapt!
My Life Beyond the Kitchen
Beyond converting wholesome recipes, I write professionally for mental and psychological health platforms. I’m also a knitter who sells handmade items for extra cash! Please excuse the lack of professional videos and photos; my time is managed by my husband, myself, and our common boss: the infamous Miss Lemon (Naughty Kitty!).
